Unable to request a manual scan

Recently, I am sometimes unable to request a manual scan.

When I click on 'Scan Computer' there is no scan - a message immediately comes up saying 'No browser threats found' and when I click on 'Next' I immediately receive 'No malware found'

Can  someone explain the reason why I am sometimes unable to obtain  a normal manual scan?

This isn't the expected behavior.

Please mention the version of the program

Try to repair the program from the control panel and check for the issue again

Thanks. It's the free version. Working ok this morning (UK time) but had problems last night - similarly the day before. So reaction to 'Scan' seems very variable!

Usually browser add-on scan will not take much time, it will end within few seconds.
For virus and malware scan, it should take few seconds to complete and show you the result.
For first virus scan, the time frame will be quite high whereas the consecutive scans will take less time.
We request you to check the status by performing the scan after a day or two.
Do you have a schedule scan setup on daily basis?
