i clicked on my AVG icon and get "the system could not find the environment option that was entered" same for all Icons on the desktop.

PS I have asked about restoring files in the "archives", But was not able to restore files in the "archive" almost the same message. this problem has been going on for a while now. i cannot do a restore or a recovery and "sfc /scannow" command will not continue past the verify point.

thanks for getting back to me.
i think i need to give you guys some more info on what my problem is.
the problem that i have is on my laptop. (i am on line with my desktop.)
so i cannot use the laptop to to open the "Chrome" browser that i use.
i cannot open any short cuts.(most of the time i cannot creat a shortcut.)
sometimes i can open AVG from the system tray, but not the shortcut onthe desktop.
when i get the error msg. it takes about 5 min. while this is happening i cannot do anything else.
I tried to recover and it says i don't have any dates.
i tried to recover with a DVD. i made on my PC. (windows 10) it could not do it
i tried to SFC /scannow booting from the windows 7 U disk i have, it varified but could go no further.
the laptop is an IBM thinkpad R61.
with core 2 duo. its OS is windows 10 installed on windows 7 U about 1 year ago.
AVG is 2016 free.
i hope i got it all, if not please get back to me.
