Unable to update through proxy

User-added image

Hello Frank,
Let's work together to fix the issue.
Please press Windows and R key simultaneously to open Run command. In Run window, type as "inet.cpl" without the quotes and click on OK button to open Internet Options dialog box. Select 'Connections' tab, click 'LAN settings' dialog box. Please check whether you enabled 'Automatic settings' and see if there is any IP address/Port number in the proxy server.
Could you provide the screenshot of this page to assist further?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Hi, All…! Hope someone could solve my issue.

I am running 2 pc's XPs Pro with SP3 in a small network environment hooking up with Windows Server 2013 (Study Purpose)
I am unable to update the XP'S Pcs through Proxy / Server. While updating AVG shows the "DNS error" while trying to fetch updates.

Thanks in advance

Frank, could you please provide us the screenshot of that page (after clicking on proxy settings) displaying the proxy settings?

Hi Balasubramanian

I should also mention that I had to install DIRECT online before it was install correctly. But if I try to UPDATE it through proxy, thats the error I get.

Thanks in advance
