Hello I A,
I apologize for the delay in responding to you, please follow the below kextstat command:
- Open terminal and run “kextstat | grep com.avg”. List of records will be displayed.
- For every record from previous step us the "sudo kextunload -b [RECORD NAME]" command
- Once all records from 1st step are removed, installation/update should be successful.
Also remove below mentioned folders from terminal and as a root:
- /Library/Application Support/AVGAntivirus
- /Library/Application Support/com.avg.Antivirus
If the issue still persist, please contact us again.
Best regards,
Alok.
Yikes, unexpected termination when running the AVG AntiVirus scan on iMac Sierra 10.2.5 -
Version 17.1 (beb837f3cd71)
Virus databases: 170607-0
Last update: June 7, 2017
2 items placed in quarantine a couple days ago
Those have been moved to trash and deleted
Now when I run the scan (two times occurence) AVG terminates unexpectedly, which has never happened. What to do? Panic may set in - do I have an evil MalWare that has pollinated AVG?
Thank you for your time, I am the free, low budget model

Thank you guys so much for your time, I forgot about the screen shot - will use next time. I think the threat of guru investigation whipped AVG back into shape, for running it a third time resulted in no termination. I know what to do in the unlikely event it occurs again. Love AVG Antivirus.
Cheers,

As suggested quite earlier in this thread, I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled - and the problem reoccurs. The log above is from the REINSTALLED VERSION.
Please try again. Thank you!

- Would someone please tell me an easier way to answer these helpful questions than spending a lot of time trying to log back in, find the community forum (not easy unless I am missing the hyperlink), and then my question since there is no reply to the email I have received? Tempting to just give up on this diagnosis.
2) NO - I followed the deintstall information listed on this link on your web sit, which does not mention that.| AVG&urlName=How-to-uninstall-AVG-AntiVirus-for-Mac
