Marcus, Did you resolve your issue with AVG?.

Thanks Bhuvaneswari,
Yes, I did provide feed back so we wait and see how things go your end. Safe to say now that this 'unidentified network' detection by AVG Network Profiling is indeed the 3rd Party VPN I am using. I don't know yet how trust worthy or useful AVG VPN is likely to be given that here in Australia anything can be flagged as inappropriate use of the internet and I certainly don't trust my ISP to not track my every move online hence I use and pay for a 3rd Party VPN.

It would be good to know if this is my 3rd Party VPN and if I should make sure it is set as 'Private' or 'Public'. As there is no way to be sure beacse AVG detects as 'unidentied network' if also I shouldn't bother renaming this network. As you may not be aware... if I change VPN start up setitngs to prevnt VPN from loading when Windows starts then close the VPN and exit at the Task Box then open AVG and delte the 'unidentified network then restart windows the 'unidentfied network' doesn't appear. At this time, I start 3rd Party VPN and found that AVG detects the 'unidentfied network' ...I have probaly anwsered my own question, should this be the case then should this Network be marked as 'Private' or 'Public'?
Also worth noting is that if I rename the 'unidentifed network' as "VPN" (for example) when Windows restarts that 'naming' returns to being 'unidentified network' so AVG doesn't keep that naming intact and possibly creates new enrties for unidentfied network' and not keeping the name I have set. It would be good if AVG could recognise purposely named netwrks for any that are found to be legitimate due to being purposely named.
I have a new issue with "Unidentified network" appearing in Network Profiles which I am told in an email TODAY that:
"Regarding, network profile concern, it seems that there is a (Unknown) wifi connection near your device which is showing as "unidentified network". "
AND THAT....
"If there are no other wifi connection available near the device, you shouldn't get "unidentified network" listed. "
So, I have scanned all WiFi networks, 'unidentified networks', WiFi network or 'unknown networks' near my WiFi device (within 100 meters range) and all appear locked per usual and behaving normally and ALL have a NAME and MAC for each ...NONE show up as unidentified. All nearby WiFi devices are accounted for but NOT this 'unidentified network' which persists within AVG detected Network Profiles
So why am I still seeing "unidentified network(s)' in AVG Network Profiles ??
Marcus, I certainly understand your concern. You can mark those identified network as private/public and submit a feedback (AVG> About > Submit feedback) to our developers regarding this. Regarding the issue, our level 3 team are working on your case, they will analyze the log files and get back to you soon via email.
Your patience is much appreciated. Thanks.

Not yet ... had a Techi remote in and did the usual upload syslog (system files to ananlyze). I personally belive that it's my 3rd Party VPN but will be interesting to know what they found out.
I think where my confusion was relating another event to this one....the other event doesn't seem related ...so I asked the software developer for the program concerned. There were two things of interest
1. New Rule created in Firewall (AVG) to allow acces to internet
2. Avast Software-Kangaroo streamback submission client (exe file or program used)
I sent them two attachments which are pretty straight forward ...but I don't use Avast Products yet one of their programs appear in use at times. I ask them if could this be related to 'Log me in Rescue' used used that other day? They have passed on to developer team.
Waiting to hear back from AVG Senior Team
Appreciate your patience and efforts in this matter, Marcus.
