Uninstall AVG Using Vista

I downloaded the Removal Tool and it did not show any products.  I then clicked on Run Anyway.
I left my computer and returned 30 minutes later. My screen said to Restart, which I did.

After doing the above there was no notification AVG had been removed.

Can I assume the Removal Tool worked?

I use Vista and want to remove AVG to check on a problem.

I tried AVG Remover and it did not finish after waiting 10 minutes.  I tried AVG Clear and a message said that link could not be found in the library.

So, I know I can uninstall AVG.  Is that my only option?

Hello -
I already did an uninstall from my Control Panel.  I use AVG Antivirus Free.
I am working with Malwarebytes on an issue and they want me to remove all elements of AVG. After my issue is evaluated by Malwarebytes, I can reinstall AVG.
