Hello Mauricio,
I am sorry to hear this.
Uninstalling AVG Driver Updater has to be done from control panel.
You can refer this article: http://avgread.me/1DEtNP0 .
If that doesn't help, proceed to delete "AVG Netherlands" folder from C:\Program Data and Program data x86 folders.
Keep us informed about the status.
I have been trying this too. I've been on AVG for many years, but it went very bad after the last stable version in 2015, when it auto-installed all sorts of malware, and keeps on doing it. This slows up my Windows XP OS, especially the control functions. I use Windows on a mac through an emulator. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to reinstall my pvm file from a backup because of AVG auto upgrades. It has come to a crisis point over the last few days, since the latest forced upgrade resulted in a 'Reboot Now' popup, with an ignore this reminder option, but no option to cancel the upgrade. The next reboot crashed the system, meaning I had to re-install Windows from my backup. This popup appears after about five minutes online, and the only way to stop is not to go online, as it seems to download the upgrade automatically without my consent. Attempting to update definitions only also seems to force a program upgrade, and I have not found a way to avoid this. Apparently, this function was removed by AVG developers because too many people were refusing the upgrade after the Zen fiasco.
I had the same set of problems with Malwarebytes, when they upgraded to Version 3. Fortunately, there I was able to revert to Version 2, which is stable. It needs definition updates regularly, but I have no problem with these, only program upgrades.
I did the 'Add and Remove Programs' route, which left AVG Zen in my Start Folder, and still fired up AVG on startup. I then tried AVG Clear (for post-2017 versions). This spent a lot of time processing files and then forced a reboot through Safe Mode, which upset Parallels, and would not allow me to get into Normal Mode again. Yet another re-installation from backup.
I went back to the 'Add Remove Programs' which then slowed up the computer again. I then did a search on the C drive for anything containing AVG, and it showed pages of crap, much of which are applications, things on Temp folders, and hidden system files. Starting with the folders, I have been moving them, along with their correct folder paths (by adding new folders and renaming them) into a Desktop folder 'Deleted AVG files'. I have done it so far with the folders that look as if they contain executable programs. This caused a bit of delay on shutdown, but on reboot, the AVG icon has not appeared in my taskbar, and Windows has run faster than it has ever done. When I have more time, I'll go through the other AVG files and folders. This will leave a lot of broken links in my Registry, but I'll have to live with that. As long as it does not find anything to call up.
Hi! I am trying to uninstall this annoying product and found it impossible! Do you have instructions to remove it?
