Greetings,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Initially, we'd like to clarify that not all apps can be removed by dragging a file to the trash in MAC.
Our uninstaller is part of AVG AntiVirus for MAC – it is bundled directly inside the application. When is AVG uninstalled incorrectly, or some important files/folders were deleted, this operation causes the corruption.
As we're uncertain whether you've tried the below steps, we've provided it.
- Open Finder
- In menubar select Go > Go to Folder…
- Type /Library/Application Support/ and hit the enter key
- Locate and delete AVGAntivirus folder
- Reboot computer and AVG should be removed
If these steps aren't performed, please try them & let us know if it helps.

I had AVG Antivirus (Mac) installed. Then I 'move to trash' (thinking that it would uninstall it) but now my Mac is stuck. I've read all the articles on how to try removing all traces of AVG. I did that and removed the directory, etc. I could not find the AVG Uninstall program. But I'm still unable to re-install AVG. Please help.
