Hello Robert,
We do understand your concern. Please be informed that "Run" means to open the AVG program in your mac computer. After you open the application and click the AVG AntiVirus Menu bar, and click Uninstall AVG AntiVirus.
Thank you
Hello Robert,
We do understand your concern. Please click on this link for the steps to uninstall AVG AntiVirus for Mac http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG-AntiVirus-for-Mac and AVG Cleaner for Mac http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG-Cleaner-for-Mac.
Thank you
I need to uninstall both AVG free antivirus & the associated Cleaner from my desktop iMac.
Has any one advice please? The AVG website only gives info for PC's although it does give advice on the cleaner. HoweverI want to do both pieces of software together
Thank you Karthikeyan,
I followed your link but I have a problem implementating your advice. The link told me to "run the AVG Antivirus for Mac". However my AVG screen only shows 4 compartments. Mac Scanner, File scanner, Realtime protection & Quarantine. Realtime is always "on" to keep me protected. To follow point 1. namely "to run AVG antivirus for Mac" all I could do was to click on the first compartment "Mac Scanner". Nothing happened except that the "dreaded" Mac spinning wheel appeared & will not stop. I'm stuck & do not know what to do. For your info I did not drag the icon to trash so that is not a factor in trying to follow your link. Regards Robert
Hello again Karthikeyan,
I am still stuck because when I open AVG antivirus all that appears on my screen are the 4 compartments which I mentioned in my earlier email. There is no menu bar! However they may be another solution which I came across whilst on your support website & which (I believe) has enabled me to uninstall AVG Cleaner. The instruction was to 1. Open Launchpad 2. Locate AVG Cleaner & hold down it's icon until all the icons began to "jiggle". 3. Click the AVG Cleaners delete button (an x) to uninstall the app. It worked & the Cleaner has vanished from my applications folder. If I do the same with the AVG Antivirus icon will it be uninstalled?
Regards Robert
