I bought a new CAT S40 with android 5.1 and preinstalled AVG 4.3.0.1 free-Version. Last week I tried to remove the AVG from the Smartphone, to install the Bitdefender-Family-Pack. So i opened the App Manager, chose AVG and pushed the „Uninstall“ Button. Afterwards, AVG wasn’t no longer listed under the „Activ“ Apps, but in the list oft the „Inactive“ Apps. I loooked on the AVG Support web site and found the hint to check the settings oft the deviceadministrator and if existing, to disable the administrator role oft the anti-theft function.
It was already disabled and so i opened the AVG in the „Deactivated“ list oft he App-Manager but the, there were only two options left, „Enforce Finish“ and „Activate“.
So at next, i reinstalled AVG again, from the google-play-store and tried again to uninstall AVG from the beginning.
Same procedure as first time, with the difference, that when i activated the AVG again, it was no longer listed neither as „Active“ nor „Inactive“ but under the „All“ list oft he App-Manager.
But anyway, the AVG Icon was still present on the display and when i clicked it, i got an AVG promotion window with the suggestion to upgrade on AVG AntiVirus Pro version. The only options to leave this window, is to quit with „Back“ or „Home“ Button or to click „Continue“.
After clicking „Continue“, suddenly and directly the window of the AVG PRO Version had opened, without any chance to confirm or refuse the upgrade.
Any attempt to find informations on the web, ended on the AVG support pages with the only two options to uninstall AVG with or without the anti-theft function.
Please can anyone help me to get rid of the complete AVG App and all of his services and data?
