Uninstalling AVG 2015 1 month free trail

Hi Alan,
Thanks for you response to my query.  I have tried the standard route to uninstall as per your suggestion several times and each time I reciueve the same message which is: -

Setup error.




Service 'AVG Firewall' (avgfws) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services.

I haver tried to uninstall several times via the normal route but ech time I get this message: -

Setup error.

Service 'AVG Firewall' (avgfws) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services.

Severity: error
Thanks for your response. I tried several times - error message as follows each time:-
Severity error;
Error code; 0xC0070643
Error message; General internal error.
Additional message; MSI Engine; Failed to install the product.

Context: AVG product installation, MSI action failed

I installed AVG 2015 for the free one month trial and as the period ended I attempted to uninstall and change to AVG Free. Received error code 0xC0070643.  Item failed to uninstall or change - what next please?

Derek, Try removing AVG by downloading & using the 32 or 64bit 2015 Remover (http://www.avg.com/ww-en/utilities) [Scroll Down], whichever suits your system. If you're not sure about 32 or 64 bit on your system have a look @ this link (http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-free-forum?sec=thread&act=show&id=140471#post_140471).
