Hello all,
I experienced the same error codes as Eric after I had experienced for reasons unknown problems with my Win8.1.Re-installing Win8 was necessary, after doing this, my pc was running smoothly but without any AVG protection.
Whe trying to re-install the AVG ultimate, this appeared never possible anymore.
I got in contact with the AVG support team who started working remotely onto my PC.
They were occupied for several hours, but the problem still stays.
I paid a fee for the AVG Go Complex Fix for amount € 127,87.
The support has stopped, problems not fixed, still no possibility to install back AVG Ultimate, now what? Can anybody help me? Support ticket 49647249 and 49647778
Do I need to buy myself Win10? Can I get back my paid fee since the problems are not fixed and my PC is still in the same condition as before the support started?

Please advise

Many thanks for your help. I'm able to perform the uninstallation via the remover tool. However when I perform a reinstallation, I encountered the following error:

Description: General error (0x0643)
Error code: 0xC0070643

I'm unable to get updates for AVG. I want to try reinstalling AVG, however when I initiated the uninstallation via Control Panel > Program and Features > Uninstall AVG Protection, the product simply will not proceed despite after waiting for more than 30mins. I need help to uninstall AVG so that I can reinstall it again.

I had same problem.  Used the manual removal from another thread. Worked finally
Then please remove the AVG folders manually as suggested below. Go to Run window (press windows key and R key simultaneously) and type the following comments to delete the folders.
1. Type “Temp” and press enter, remove all the files.
2. “%temp%” and remove all the files.
3. %appdata% - Remove all the AVG folders.
4. %programdata% - Open the AVG folder and remove the old files.
Please go to c: drive-> program files and delete the AVG files. Reboot your device in normal mode and proceed with the installation as suggested here: Download Free Antivirus Software for PC | AVG Virus Protection .

Hi I Tried Reinstalling mine (via) avg remover tool as well since it won't let me update, And now having the same general error and error code like Eric Kwan has now.
