I wasn’t intending on uninstalling AVG permanently but for some reason it wasn’t working properly after a system update.  My plan was to uninstall and then re-install, but it didn’t uninstall properly so that was the end of that!
I seem to remember that there were loads of posts on the forum about this at the time.

AVG didn't uninstall properly,  I've tried following the Terminal instructions but it gives me this message -

The file /Applications/AVGAntivirus.app/Contents/Backend/utils/com.avg.uninstall.app does not exist.

There was an Uninstaller program mentioned on the threads months ago which I asked for and someone from support asked me for a screenshot but I heard nothing back.

Any ideas??

To remove the traces of AVG from your Mac and reinstall it again, I have sent an email with the steps to connect to our remote experts.

Please check the email and follow the instructions to start the remote session.

Yeah, I've done that.
AVG is no longer on the menu bar (because I followed steps 1-5 of the preferred method).

It then wouldnt let me re-install as it says the program is already on the computer.  I can't follow the preferred method any more as its no longer on the menu bar, so I tried steps 1-5 as per the alternative method and got the message as per the screenshot posted above.
