Hi everyone!
I wonder if any of you can offer advice about uninstalling old versions of AVG from Windows 7? I'm trying to upgrade my security to Bullguard but can't until I get rid of the old AVGs.
I have two free versions of AVG installed on my PC. They are listed as "AVG" and "AVG 2014" in my Control Panel under "Uninstall or Change a Programme". When I try to uninstall them in the usual manner using "Uninstall or Change a Program", it doesn't work.
When I try to uninstall "AVG", I get a message saying "To Uninstall AVG Zen you must first uninstall AVG Protection", but there seems to be no way to do this (AVG Protection does not appear on my list of installed programs).
When I try to uninstall "AVG 2014", the process just seems to freeze after I click to give permission to allow the program to "make changes to this computer", and AVG 2014 does not uninstall.
I have read the guidance about using AVG Remover or AVG Clear as an alternative to remove the programs, but I do not appear to have an interface which allows me to do this. (I only have a version of AVG Zen which offers very few functions and nothing like those on the AVG User Interface shown on the AVG Support page.)
Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could try next?
Huge thanks
Dan
Hi Dan,
We will certainly look into this and help you.
You need to download and run AVG Remover tool to uninstall the older version AVG files.
We have sent an email with steps to run AVG Remover. Please check the inbox/spam for the email.
