On Windows 8 I can not unistall AVG Family filter which is a discontinued product. Not even AVG Tech could get it out. Although he said he was successful he was not. I have followed all the directions several times. When I type in my password to unistall the computer says gathering information but that will go no where for hours and hours. Help anyone. This used to be the BSecure product for families.
I have tried the uninstall tool it goes through the whole process restarts my computer and the program is still on my computer. I have tried the uninstall feature through windows remove program in control panel. I think it has something to do with Windows 8. I have successfully removed the AVG filter from my laptops with windows 7. This Windows 8 seems to be the problem.
In that case you can use 3rd party uninstallers like Revo Uninstaller to get rid of it. You can download the free version of Revo Uninstaller from (http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html). Thank you.
