My PC recently performed two un-announced AVG 2015 Free edition updates, asking for a reboot after each.

Now, everytime I turn the PC on I get the following error: "Unspecified error occured in the following AVG component(s); -avgwdsvc.exe".

Looking at the archive forum, I found this: AVG Support Community | User Forum for All AVG products

Unfortunately, all this suggests is turning off notifications - which is not really fixing the issue.

I'm also a little nervous about the two recent un-announced updates and am wondering if my PC has been compromised. I've carried out a few full AV checks and they come back all okay, as does Microsoft defender.

Any ideas as to what's causing the error?
