Please let us know the AVG programs (name) that you've installed on your computer ( Go to control panel - Programs - Programs & featurs - check the list).
For better clarity, share us the screenshot of the message that you receive. Also, clarify whether you experience this issue with Firefox alone or irrespective of browsers.

I use Firefox for my internet and every time I try to go into a website, such as course hero, it gives me a message to update my browser, which it is and unsupported browser. I tried it on my other computer and it worked. It must be the AVG or Firefox. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how do I get this fixed?
