I strongly believe you have a problem I along with others cannot update our protection plan. It keeps saying unable to access your server. My last update was on June 28, 2015. Since then I keep getting this same message. Now, I am sitting here with my P.C. telling me that I am in danger of being attacked for lack of proper updates to my protection.

Hi Warren - You are not alone in this problem. Look at the thread Updates failing at Updates Failing | AVG
At least in our thread, Subhadeep Kanungo | AVG Guru says, "Hi Martin and AVG User, some people are facing this issue [updates failing] at the moment. AVG is working on to fix the issue. AVG User at present you can update AVG manually."
A few of us have tried everything listed on this thread and more to no availl. Until AVG fixes the problem, we have to update manually. But at least you know it is not your problem nor are you alone in the pain.
