Right after your last post here, I went on the chat support and gave them an email address they could reach me at since I'm locked out of the one on this account. After a while, I still had not heard, so I did another chat days later to confirm they had that correct email address to reach out to me about this case #. They said they need more time and would reach out.
It's now been 2 weeks and I still have yet to hear from anyone at the email address I gave them. The chat support did verify they have the email address to contact me at. Can you please check on this case - case #12810266 - and ask them to at least give me an idea of what's happening on this. My AVG is not updating and that's leaving that computer vulnerable all this time. So I'm eager to hear from them and get it solved. Thank you.

I set this account up on this forum years ago on a particular email address. I just found that it's been so long that I no longer have access to that email account. So if they email me there, I won't be able to get it. Is there another way for them to reach me if they can't communicate with me through this board? Perhaps there is somewhere I could contact you privately with a different email address they can reach me at?

In that thread, I was asked to post my own thread so I’m posting here.
AVG was working fine for a long time. Then a little less than a week ago, one day when it went to update, it suddenly started giving the error:
"Update Failed
Sorry, we couldn’t reach our update server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and try again."
I will try to post a screenshot of this error.
When I try to do a repair, that also won't work because I get an error message saying "Connection failed - this application requires internet connectivity…"
I had made no changes at all and haven’t had issues connecting to the server until this recently started happening. My internet connection works fine for everything else.
This is happening on an old computer with Windows XP. It also has an older kind of processor. So it can only update to a certain version of AVG. So I can’t reinstall a newer version. Still, up until a few days ago it had no problem reaching your server and that has worked fine for years.
I was told to try some other DNS settings but that didn’t help.
As of now I’m still getting the same “Update Failed” error anytime it tries to update.
I suspect something changed on your end that made it suddenly unable to connect.
Before I do that I want to clarify something. The issue is not only that the computer has Windows XP but that it has an old type of processor. What I recall is that there are some versions of AVG where the installer requires a certain level of processor, I believe one that supports SSE2, and mine doesn't. So it's not enough that the version runs on Windows XP. It also has to have an installer that works with this older kind of processor otherwise the install will fail.
Will the installer for the version you linked to work on a non-SSE2 processor? If not I need the newest version that does which I believe is the one I already have.

Yes but as I said in my last post I cannot access that email account. I can use that email address as my login to post here. But the actual email account itself is old and I found it's locked. So they won't be able to contact me at that email address. So I need to give another way for them to contact me. I don't want to post it publicly. So how can I give them a different email address to reach me at?
