Update failing, cannot reach server

I followed the steps for what to do when you get a general error and I still have no luck…

Update failed or not working in AVG
About 1 week ago or so I suddenly got the message saying update failed and couldn't reach your update servers.
I have followed all the troubleshoots to try resolve this, I have even gone as far as uninstalling the program and reinstalling and I still have the same error.

I tried to contact support and waited for the live chat window to pop up, 1hr later and Im still waiting.
and yes, pop ups are enabled.

help?

Just the standard AVG Free. Altho when I reinstalled, I opted for the 30day free trail
