I suggest you repair your AVG and check if that fixes the issue.

To Automatically update your AVG, please make sure that you have selected Automatic Update for both Program Update and Virus Definitions under Internet Security>Menu>Settings>Update>Settings

Hi Akash
Sorry but your solution did not work.
I follwed all the steps and then restarted but it still indicated that I needed to up date and when i clicked on the update button the download lasted  just 2 or 3 seconds befoer reverting back to the previous page.
What else can i try?

Hi
I have received a notification that my AVG protection requires updating.
However when I click update it shows a timeline and then immediately reverts back to the update page and no updating has taken place. I have tried to update a number of times but it continues to fail.
There are two updates entitled Virus definitions and Program with release dates 10/11/17 and 3/10/17 respectively.
I have version 171116-14
How can I effect the update(s)?
