I'd like to thank you for the attempts at help but the picture in the link is nothing close to what I have been getting. The popup doesn't say my protection is about to expire… Why would I be getting the popup saying i've updated sucessfully and asking if would I like to upgrade to the 30 day pro if I'm alrealy using the free version with a lisence number that says it will never expire… If you allowed the pasting of attachments i'd past the pic here but unfortunately you don't, and I do not subscribe to any image hosting services. I haven't run a trial version of the software in over 9 years. This is the third pc I've owned in those 9 years and it's the first time I've ever seen an add pop up in the middle of the screen for your product regularly. This is the second time i have had an issue with AVG though. Back when it switched over from version numbers to year editions several years ago I had a windows xp laptop that the update killed the wireless on it. I had no option then but to switch to another product as after multiple attempts of complete uninstalls even using the removal tool the new verson still trashed my wireless but it came back each time I uninstalled it. To me honestly AVG is putting too much into their antivirus… People just want simple, clean protection for when they are online. They don't need popups asking them to try another verson, they don't need the antivirus program to monitor the peformance or fancy firewalls, Windows is more than capable of doing that if you have a knowledge of pc's. To me this just seems to be an add campain that AVG currently has running to try and encourage people over to the 30 day trial of premium in order to get them to pay for future service. As for that, some reason I didn't get the popup this time I booted the system this afternoon without making any changes… Really weird… I have checked the system event viewer for any errors related to avg over the past 3 weeks just to make sure but have not gotten any. So sadly it has come to the point that if I have to uninstall the product to get rid of an advertizing popup which it clearly seems. It's just as well I go with the free one that my ISP provides. That way at least if I have any future issues I can call customer service and get some answers in person. I don't mean to come across as rude or brash it's just I'm not prepared to get an unwanted advertizing pop up on a regular basis in the middle of my screen from something that is supposed to be protecting me from it… AVG should really consider taking a page from some other Antivirus suites and keep the popups in the system tray where they belong. Thanks for the assistance either way…
With the last program update that AVG free did I now get a nagging popup in the middle of my screen shortly after every time I boot the system usually after AVG has updated the virus definitions. The pop up states " Update Completed Successfully.
You're up to date against the latest viruses. Now try AVG internet secuirty to get enhanced firewall and prevent hackers too." With a No thanks small option and a big "Try it free" for 30 days option. Is any one else getting this popup every time they boot? Doesn't matter how many times i reboot… It pops up every time. My system is a custom built I7 with 8 gigs of ram and running windows 7. Can any one tell me how to get rid of the popup? Clickking no thanks just makes it pop up again the next boot… And I'm not doing the free 30 day trial as I don't want any more unecessary software on my machine. I'd hate to have to uninstall avg and switch to another product. I was an AVG user for years and was forced to remove it from my laptop as it killed my wireless when it was installed. I really don't want to have to remove it from my desktop too. Thanks for your time…

Kishore, I realize that that they are legitimate pop-ups from avg but i don't consider my question answered at all… I can quite honestly say I have been using your product for years and have never been so intrusively aggrivated by a software product trying to push an upgrade on me as this. Having a pop up in the middle of your screen that's basically an advertizent is a bit excessive… Especially when it pops up after every boot which in my case is at least 2 times a day. One would logically think that if you click on the add for the upgrade saying "No Thanks" that the Ad would permanently go away and not being forced to do it every day. Most every other product i have used, uses simple system tray popups to notify of possible updates / upgrades. How long is this Advertizing plan going to continue for because after a full week of it it's really starting to get annoying? If you can't answer this question please find me someone that can as I'm not prepared to be forced to see an advertizement for the same thing over and over multiple times a day for an extended period of time. I am at the moment considering switching to another less intrusive antivirus provider because of this. I am always very careful about my browsing, I rarely visit sites I am unfamiliar with, and never open email attachments, so that I avoid viruses… I also realize that this is a free product… But this is not a proper way to get AVG's message across… I've seen and removed Malware on freind's pc's that were less intrusive with popups as this. I hope this message gets across my level of frustration about this sudden forced product advertizement.
