Update renewal on Windows 7

Regarding the other problem during logging out from AVG program interface.
It is the general behavior which shows warning that your program will lose the paid features when you log out.
If you are trying to activate the product, then you can log out and log in back to get the paid subscription.

I've gone to "my subscription" after doing all the parts to update with my new license, but when I hit "renew subscription" I get the message, "The online content is unavailable.  Please check your internet connection and try again."  There's nothing wrong with my internet connection, and this has been the message consistently as I've tried this on and off all afternoon.
The other problem is, if I attempt to log out from that "my subscription" page, I get a message that it will downgrade me to the free antivirus and I'll lose all my paid features, so on so on. 
I'm beyond frustrated now.  I've also had two different notices about this year's renewal.  One that said I've already been renewed, gave me the links and new license number (and is what I've been trying to update), and another one the next day saying "renew now!"   Excuse me?
