I will check this for you.

It seems that you have an older version of AVG installed on your computer.

The latest version is 18.6.

Please uninstall http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG the older version of AVG to completely remove all the traces of AVG from your computer.

Use this link http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection to install the latest version of AVG Internet Security.

I am getting an Computer Update Required that won't go away. I have tried the Fix button several times and re-booted the computer each time and its still showing that a Computer Update is Required. At the top of the message box in red it says "Your are not fully protected!". The Web, Software and Email icons are green and all say Protected. Only the Computer icon is circled red with an exclamation mark. When I click on Fix it goes through the process and keeps saying that I'm up to date. How can this be fixed.
I am using AVG Antivirus, version: 16.161.8048 with an expiry of Jan. 2020.

Pamela, we made a major change in the AVG engine, that is the reason why we ask customer to uninstall the old version and suggest them to reinstall the latest version of the AVG Internet Security program.

What happens when you try to activate the license? Are you getting any error message?

Please share us the screenshot (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot) of it to check and assist you further.

Thank you Karthikeyan for the info and links. The problem has been fixed now as a Version update was required.

I have exactly the same problem but when I tried to install the latest version my licence is not accepted.  It is not that long ago that I paid to renew my licence why does AVG not make it easier to update to newer version?!
