Update to May 2019 release

Thank you for sharing us the screenshots, Luc.
Upon checking them, we see the usual behavior of the program, as it is designed in such a way. Whenever you click on Settings, the General tab will be opened, in which the first option is regarding language. It is not required to change the language. You can simply click on Update (left pane) & proceed to update the program/virus definitions.
If this doesn't answer your query, please let us know.

Hello Luc,

We are sorry to hear this. Could you provide the screenshot of AVG update error window here?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Thank you, I followed your instructions and the update ran corretly. However I did notice that the program invited me to change language settings  (add language) each time I tried to do the update before the repair. I changed the language to Dutch, the language of my region, after which the update ran correctly. Something to look into on your side?
Anyhow, great service delivery! Luc.

Having trouble with the latest update to the May 2019 release. Always "something went wrong, and the update failed. Prease try again" message appears.  On other laptop, no issue.
How to solve?

You are welcome, luc.

Glad to hear that the update is running fine now.

Please initiate the update and take screenshot of page where you received the prompt to choose language & attach it here.

We will check with our senior team and get back to you soon.

Alright, Luc. This isn't the usual behavior of the program. However, let us try changing the network (DNS) settings on your computer to check if it helps.
Note : Please ignore the Secure VPN part that is mentioned in the above article.
If issue persists, please try repairing the AVG program once & check.
