Updated After Effects to 2015.3, now GPUSNIFFER flags AVG

Hello Andrew,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
For security reasons any antivirus program would block some .exe application.
We can add such trusted programs to AVG's exception list by following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/18WB2dg
Also submit the threat detected sample to AVG using this link: http://www.avg.com/submit-sample so that our developers will analyze it and add it to virus definitions database.

I just updated my windows 7 CC 2015 Illustrator, PHotoshop and AFter Effects…

Opened up AE 2015.3 and flagged GPUSNIFFER.exe as:

  • General Behavioral Detection
  • severity: Medium

Not sure what to do, clean it, remove it... not sure what will happen if I do either... hate to get an attack... hate to have my apps stop working as I have work to do...

I'm guessing that if it came from adobe I should allow it and have avg ignore it.

any help would be great...

I just sent in the photo of the message which avg popped up… and sent it with the form in your link.  I cannot find the actual exe file the message indicates and i'm guessing that maybe it goes away, being in a temp folder.

However, as I was unable to leave that screen without picking a choice, I had to go with the option to 'make me safe' so i had it deleted.   which would then close out the program.  But it would flag again as i selected a file to open.

I've recently brought it up again after bringing up OTHER updated programs and it now does NOT flag, so I'm not sure what happened unless something got updated.

I hope this helps, but it would be good to know what's happening ><

thanks!
