AVG firewall only prevent unauthorized access from other networks.
It will not determine the needed application updates.
While you are accessing internet, AVG firewall will block untrusted or unwanted pop-ups which may harmful to your computer.
For example, if you click some links in the unwanted pop-ups it may execute some harmful application.
AVG Firewall will definitely prevent these kinds of pop-ups and will notify you about the online threats.

I need to restore to an earlier date. After that l need to update some of my programs such as adobe acrobat, windows, and other AVG Firewall Trusted Credentials. Can AVG Firewall determine needed updates like flashplayer and is there an option for it to search other programs for updates and do them? Also; if you open a browser to the internet like MSN, does AVG Firewall recognize a popup and block it because sometimes it does and sometimes it does not? l just wanted to better understand when this works and why. This is why l am restoring because l am unsure of an inadvertant click.
