Updates not working

Hello, Dean.
Please change to public DNS on your computer and check if you are able to update AVG.
Change DNS server address to public DNS in Windows 7, 8 and 8.1
 (1) Right click on network icon in the taskbar and click "Open Network and Sharing Center"
 (2) Click "Change adapter settings"
 (3) Select the active/ connected network adapter and right click and select "Properties"
 (4) Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click properties and then select "Use the following DNS server address". (By default "obtain DNS server address automatically" is selected).  When you select "Use the following DNS server address", you can use the DNS address you want. Popular public DNS addresses is google DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4).

Thanks.

Is anyone else having issues with the latest AVG update.

Getting a message "Virus definitions are out of date".

I click "Update" button, click the "update" buttons on both the Updates and the Program sections (do we REALLY need to do this?)...it finishes the update, but I still get the message.
Restarting the machine makes no difference...still get the "Antivirus Attention" message on AVG.

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
