Updates to Enhanced Firewall Packet rules disappear

Hello Willy,
Let's have a look into this together.
Please make sure that AVG Internet Security Firewall configuration is made as per the recommendations. Open AVG - Menu - Settings - Full protection - Enhanced Firewall - Enable Internet connection sharing.Additionally, click on "Network profiles" and change all the Networks to "Private" - Click OK to confirm it.
Keep monitoring the progress and inform us here.

It has happened again, not quite sure exactly when, but probably 3 days ago.

The problem I have is when AVG internet security updates it resets my firewall settings so programmes that I have blocked from internet access are free to access the internet. Rather defeats the point of a firewall. How is this security.

I have setup a rule in Settings -> Full Protection -> Enhanced Firewall -> Packet rules which says Allow all in/out for range xxx.xxx.xxx.0-xxx.xxx.xxx.255. The reason is that I have a local FTP server running and this is the only way I, and your support team, could make that work. The problem is that the rule gets deleted when AVG Ultimate is updated, it has happened 3 times so far and it is rather annoying as I only discover that the rule has gone when I find that the FTP service does not work anymore.
As mentioned I have talked to support about this before, but it still happens.

Hi,
I think that you misunderstand. I know to reinstate the rule, my complaint is that the rule goes away after a AVG software update, like the one done 2 days ago.
All networks are ‘private.’

Ok I have enabled "Internet connection sharing mode" and removed the packet rule, and my FTP is still working. So that setting will survive a software update?

Got it, I will contact you most likely Monday afternoon (european time).

We're sorry to know that, Willy. Would you be so kind to let us know the exact version of AVG that installed on your computer?
You can also share us the screenshot of the update settings window to get more info about the last update (Open AVG - Menu - Settings - Update)

Thank you for updating the status.
A software update shouldn't change the settings.
If it happens again, we request you to contact us immediately.
We can collect logs and check why this is happening.

Ok, here goes:
Software version: 19.8.3108 (build 19.8.4257.552)
Virus definitions version: 200221-0
Number of definitions: 9,391,692
UI version: 1.0.216
