Updates / update manage not active

Hello Linda,
We apologize to hear that you are experiencing issues to update AVG. Please follow the steps below to set update proxy in AVG to automatic.
Open your AVG program.
From the menu Options, select Advanced settings.
In the left pane, navigate to Update and expand the item.
Click the sub-item Proxy.
In the right pane, select Auto.
Click on Apply and OK to save the settings.
Then try to update AVG and check if the issue is resolved.

the updates are failing – it says the proxy settings are not configured properly – then it says update manage is not active
