Upgrade to Windows 10

Hello Bill. Do you mean your pc is crashed while trying to downgrade to Windows 7? If it is the case, I request you to contact your pc manufacturer support or local technician. Thank you.

Since upgrading to Windows 10, I get periodic messages(about every 10 minutes) that my antivirus software has been turned off, both AVG and Windows Defender. The yellow warning shield is present over the AVG logo on the task bar, I click on it and sure enough I have to click the "Fix it" button. Stays on for a few minutes, then off again. Any ideas. Never, ever a problem with my Windows seven. Any help will be most appreciated.

Yes, no problem. It will(in red) display: "you are not fully protected". I will then click on "Fix It", and it will turn on the green "You are Protected". Then , several minutes later it will repeat this scenario over and over about every 5 to 10 minutes.Thank you. Bill

No. I had Windows 7x64 which worked really, really well. I wanted to try Windows 10 since it was a free upgrade. I read that if you didn't like it, it was easy to remove if it was done within one month. Well, I had it three days and it was not good for me. Kept turning off my wifi, AVG, and has totally made my DVD player disappear. So, I quickly decided to get rid of it. I clicked on the one button to remove it to return to Windows 7. After it had worked for a few minutes, a screen appears telly me my pc is broken and in need of repair. There was a "component that had been damaged or otherwise inaccessible". Now I can't remove Windows 10 and my DVD player is belly up and can't even reload Windows 7. I ended up using REVO to totally uninstall AVG 2015 so at least I could use Windows Defender until the problem is fixed. I then went toSecurity and Maintenance in the Control Panel.to turn on Windows Defender. Guess what? It is still showing AVG is still on so I can't turn on WD. I am going to re-install AVG and just put up with turning it on all the time-I have had it with Microsoft/Windows 10.

Hi Bill, I will help you with the issue, are you still using windows 10 ? are you able to scan your computer with AVG program ? To solve the issue with DVD please try to install the DVD driver, you can do this by downloading the correct driver from the DVD manufacture website. Thank you

Hello Bill. I am sorry to hear that. Could you please let us know whether you can access your AVG program and does it displays as "You are Protected" ?

Bill, I do understand your issue. I request you to click on this link: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download and  Click the paid version or Trial version under the AVG product you have.
