Upgrading from avg antivirus 2015 (licensed) to internet security 2017, also licensed

Tried to do this upgrade several times and had no luck. Avg keeps trying to sell me installation (only $19.99 ) . Do I have to uninstall the 2015 before installing the 2017? I have a registered Avg account.  Help!
