May I know exactly what happens when you turn on the Web & Email shield on your computer?
Do you have another antivirus program installed on your PC?
If yes, please uninstall other antivirus programs which might conflict with AVG and check the status.

In fact, I think that I've now been able to sort it out. I'll watch it for a day or so, and will get back if it misbehaves.

We've been using the free AVG antivirus for some time - just installed Monterey 12.1, and the web/e-mail protection no longer works… I imagine that AVG hasn't yet launched an updated version - does anyone know when that might be available? I ask because I was thinking of upgrading to the paid-for version.
