Using both Imap and Pop3 servers under Win10

Thannkyou for your prompt attention even on a Bank Holiday.  I am using Win10 "Mail"  I have not bought  Outlook.  I do not use web browsers except in emergency

I am using AVG 20016.  When I firsst encountered the problem AVG advised mee to edit instructions in AVg then change my  client to address specific ports and SSL instructions.  I now think I know how to do this in the Mail client, but I have lost the port refences and other instructions.  I believe there maybe a ready made answer referring to Yahoo.com which addresses this problem.

Ntlworld as Imap is working to Mail on my new Win 10 laptop satisfactorily, but when I set up a french server as Pop3 AVG sent a message advising to perform several mods to Avg, which I did, then go to my email client and change the ports it addresses.  Unfortunately I have not been able to access the (can't find) the parameters involved.  What's  more I have now mislaid the changes I have to make to my client.   How to proceed?  Keep fighting it, or Uninstall Avg and the existing mail accounts and set them both up as POP3 as I am not at all interested in using smart phones or tablets for email access

Hello Neil.
Thank you for contacting us. Could you please let us know whether it is an email client like Outlook you use to check your email or is it in a web browser you login to your email account? Thank you.

My problem is with Mail.  I have been through the procedure in AVG similar to that shown under set up scanner for G-mail, But when creating the POP3 ccount I cannot access fields to insert server 127.0.0.1 and ports 5100 & 5200.  Any hints?

Is it essential for AVG to use SSL encryption.  I have never had to do this on my other computer?
