Hi Karen,
Let us try changing the Google DNS and check the status with AVG update.
1. Press Windows and R key simultaneously to open Run command.
2. In Run window, type as "ncpa.cpl" without the quotes and click on OK button.
3. In Network connections window, please right-click the connection you use, and select Properties.
4. Double-click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IPv4) item on the Networking tab.
5. Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window. Click OK.

7) Click on Apply and Ok.
Initiate the update of AVG Internet Security and inform the status here.
Since renewing my subscription of Internet Security Unlimited, I am finding that it is not automatically updating. It says Virus Definitions are out of date so when I go on to update, the first part is okay, but the program part starts to load on the 1/3 parts, then says just updating this may take a while and that's it it never moves from there and finishes the update. Can anyone advise how I get this sorted. The program update has changed date so thought any blip may be fixed but still not working
