Virus definition update

I did this again, and am now working.  MS 365 was not happy and it took a couple reboots for it to update, but I am working now.  Thank you Bala.

Hello, my virus definitions show over a month old, and the application wants me to update.  The update keeps failing.  It simply says Virus Definitions are not up to date, then says "Release date was December 22, 2019  1:59pm  (ver. 191222-0).  I'm on an HP laptop with Windows 10  Version  10.0.17763 Build 17763.  

Any help appreciated.

I did as you suggested, and now my virus definitions are 2 months out of date, and will not update.
