Virus definitions are out of date

Hi, Clare.
Please open AVG, click on Menu > Settings > Update. Then, click on 'Update' against Virus definitions to resolve the issue. If you receive any error message, please provide a screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of it. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

At top of AVG home screen if big red letters I have - Virus definitions are out of date.
When I press "update now", nothing happens.
Have restarted computer and still showing the same, been like it for a few days now.
