Thanks, I have repaired following your instructions and I now have an updated virus definition.

We will look into it.
Please share the screenshot of that update page and let us know the version of AVG you have installed.
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> About -> check its version.

I have a W10 desktop.  since yesterday AVG has been telling me to update my virus Definitions but just runs the sliding bar backwards and forwards without finishing.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Upon checking it, we see that you've the latest version of AVG installed on your computer. Sometimes, this might happen if the program is unable to communicate with our server. In this regard, let us try repairing the program once & restart the computer to check if it helps. Repairing helps us to ensure that all services are running fine.
