Virus definitions out of date

Hi Carol,

We will help you to get this issue fixed. We suggest you to update the google DNS address and then try to update AVG Internet Security program.

Please follow below mentioned steps to update Google DNS address:
1. Please press Windows and R key simultaneously to open Run command.
2. Then type "ncpa.cpl" without the quotes in it and click on OK button.
3. In Network connections window, please right-click the connection you use, and select Properties.
4. Double-click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item on the Networking tab.
5. Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window. Click OK.
6) Select Use the following DNS server addresses and enter
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4.
7) Click on Apply and OK.

Then click on Update Now in AVG user interface and let us know if the issue still persists.
