Restart your PC and try updating AVG.

My Internet Security virus definitions are out of date but the program will not update them as 'setup is already running'. Has anyone experienced this issue and how do I fix it?

Have you reinstalled the program using AVG remover and clear tools to check the status?
I am having this same problem with my desktop PC, my laptop which is running the same AVG product is working ok. I have checked all the usual methods in the support section but nothing works.
