I have tried three times now on differnet network connection, same result.
Is it possible that a virus on this Mac is blocking the AVG process?
I believe that there is a virus present in the Safari browser that causes it to re-direct from Google to Bing search engine.
Please note that AVG is not yet loaded on this Mac, I was trying to do the initial installation when the error came up.

I am an AVG Ultimate subscriber. The AVG AntiVirus installer is not able to retrieve the virus definitions for my iMac. Process times out.
System is macOS Sierra 12.10.6. and the AVG product was not previously installed on the device.
Have deleted the first downloaded "dmg" and tried the process with a second download, same result of timing out when attempting to download virus definitions.
Looking for advice please and thanks.
