Virus definitions update fail

I am having this same issue now as well. I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled it, did a scan, and got the same message. I went in to check for updates and was told that the virus definitions are up to date with a date of 2013.

Me too now -  On Andriod, I got two notification one that issues were detected and the other that my virus defintions were out of date.

I followed instructions in the notification to update my virus definitions and was told I already had the latest version

I then went to the notification that issues were detected did the rescan and was told that my defintions were out of date so followed the instructions. Virus definition update and did a re-scan. Same issue reported.

Reset phone, same problem

Hi,

I have the exact same problem as Tom does (or did). I did uninstall and reinstall AVG Antivirus, and it worked fine for a few days, but the problem resurfaced.

You've mentioned version 6.6, but I'm only able to get version 6.5.3 on my phone - how do I get version 6.6? The Play Store doesn't show an update available.

Thanks.

Tom,

Sorry to hear that you are receiving a threat notifications where it says your AVG is out of date. Go to control panel -> programs and features -> Uninstall -> Internet Security -> check if you have installed latest version of AVG 2017 or older.

I request you to share the screenshot ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot ) of that detection message and AVG interface which you have installed. Awaiting your reply, thank you!

I keep getting a threat message telling me that my virus definitions are out of date and each time I try to update them the update fails. Anyone else experiencing this?

Error message

Pete, I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Our developers are aware of this and confirmed an update will be released soon with a fix. Thank you for your understanding!

I'm having the same issue. It's telling me that my virus definitions are dated 2014 but refuses to update them. I paid for AVG so I'm reluctant to replace it with another product. I'm on version 6.9.3. I've reported the problem but no response yet.

Tom, For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Clearly, resetting the app is not working as multiple users are reporting the same issue (I am as well), what are the next steps?
