Virus in Quarantine?

Hello Kevin,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused and would like to inform you that the threat popup of AVG saying that the file was moved quarantine is actually a bug.
The detected threat is actually removed at the first instance and it is not moved to quarantine.
Our developers are working to this fix the issue with the message appearing for threat popup.
We assure you that it will be fixed as soon as possible. Your patience is much appreciated.

Hi all,
I am using a windows computer with windows 7 home software. I ran the AVG free version which I have updated to the most recent version release. During the basic computer scan, I received a pop-up stating that the scan had revealed a virus and "safely locked it in quarantine." The program then continued to scan and when finished, returned a report that there were no virus's found and all was well. I went into the quarantine section to delete the virus that was revealed in the pop-up, and found that there was no virus located in the quarantine file. so my questions are, was that a false positive? is there actually a virus in my computer that has been able to avoid quarantine? how do I know if any of those possibilities or none have occurred.
Thanks for any help

Kevin
