Hello Christine,
May I know the name of the AVG program that is installed on your PC?
Do you have the latest 2016 version of AVG program installed?
I have asked about this in past & was informed at next update issue will be fixed but as of today it is not. I have SCANS run AUTOMATICALLY every night about mid-night. There are threats detected BUT NOT removed automatically(mostly tracking cookies). I have to remove them myself every AM.
If I run a scan MANUALY IT WILL DETECT & REMOVE it. WHY????. Having a virus protection program that I must check daily doesnt work for me. I want any issues to be handled automatically unless a true notification is needed first. All my advanced settings are correct also. Please help.
Thanks

I have AVG Internet Security, File version 2016.0.7357.
As far as question #4--It is ticked(checked).
Christine,
Thank you for the information.
We request you to check whether you have one of the option ticked to remove the threats automatically.
1) Open AVG internet security
2) Click on Options at the top and select "Advanced settings" in it.
3) To the left pane click on the + symbol of "SCAN" and below that you will get "Whole computer scan" click on it.
4) To the right, the first option with the check box is "Heal/remove viruses found without asking me" please check whether this option is ticked on your program settings and do let us know.
On the same option below it will be mentioned that any Anti-rootkit threat detection will always be prompted to you to take action on it.
Please feel free to get back to us for further assistance.
Thank you.

Hello Christine,
Thank you for getting back to us. Please note that every infection can not be removed automatically by an anti virus program. Some infections may require you to manually remove or it will be removed in the next PC restart. Thank you.
