Virusscan: timer fixed on "a few seconds ago"

The thread is still quiet on this issue, Bhuvaneswari. Your last response was 12 days ago - may we have an update, please?

What I can't work out is whether or not my machine is fully protected. The previous AVG version used to do a scan every day - configurable and simple & straightforward. This version appears not to, relying on scanning inputs such as emails and downloads only: is this the intended modus operandi?

This thread has gone very quiet. I find it incredible that AVG seem unable to fix what is clearly a program error being reported by a number of users. I would have thought that, at least, it would be possible to roll back the faulty update.

Hello Louis,
Do you have a virus scan scheduled in your AVG which could have run in the background and finishes silently if there is no threat found?

I have exactly the same problem. It reports "a few seconds ago" for both "last computer scan" and "virus definition", although my last scan was actually a week ago.
This started happening just after the most recent program update.

Since i run the latest engine upgrade (17.6.3029) my dashboard is fixed on scan: a few seconds ago.
The same for the latest computerscan.

But in reality my latest scan took place yesterday.

Am I the only one with this issue?

Hello Stephen,
I'm sorry but we are still working on this fix. The AVG update will get release soon and the issue will get fixed. The issue (a few seconds ago) is just with AVG user interface. If your AVG Internet Security/AVG Free Antivirus is green and saying "you're protected", then your computer is protected from all types of malware/ransomware.
Best regards,
Alok.

Not an answer.  I have the same problem since updating to latest version of AVG free after AVG warned it was out of date.  'Last computer scan' and 'Virus definition' both read 'a few seconds ago' regardless of when the last scan or virus definition update took place.

Hi not an answer but I have the same exact problems on my win 7 and win 10 computers. After updating the program, the virus definitions always reads "a few seconds ago".

You're welcome Stephen,
You can also schedule a scan on AVG 2017 version. Please click on the following link (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-start-or-plan-a-computer-scan) for AVG 2017 version Schedule scan preferences.
Best regards,
Alok.

Thank you for your reaction sir. I have checked and find out there was no scan scheduled.

I send you a printscreen. Below there are the two messages i mean:  fixed on 'a few seconds ago ' - I also found out that the engine can not automatically make a connection for the latest virusprotection -  I have to push the button for this.
