VPN and router conflict

Hello Henning,
Thank you for contacting AVG Community Support.
I apologize for the inconvenience.I'll certainly check and help you out.
I believe you access your home router.
Home routers must be acessed with in local network.
Connecting to VPN will assign you a IP of distant region which makes it dfficult for your home router to respond back…
Ensure to turn off your VPN while accessing your home router.
I'm really shocked to know that yor Wi-fi 5Ghz connection is slow with VPN on. Please try to connect VPN to the optimal location and check your browsing speed in 5 Ghz wi-fi connection. If you find the browsing speed to be dropping do change the VPN location. Changing the VPN location will help. Let us know if it helped. Awaiting your response.

Hi, why can I not get access to http://router.asus.com/index.asp with VPN active/on ?  It also seems that VPN reduces the wifi 5G network considerably, which is why I try to access the adress above.

You are welcome!

Thank you. I guess I just have to keep switching VPN on/off according to usage.
Kind regards Henning
