Hello Felipe,
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We will check and help you to resolve it. AVG Secure VPN allows torrenting through our data center locations listed below:
- Prague, Czech Republic
- Frankfurt, Germany
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- New York City, New York
- Miami, Florida
- Seattle, Washington
- London, United Kingdom
- Paris, France
Could you please try to set AVG secure VPN server location to any of the above and check it? We look forward for your response.
Change VPN Server location to Torrenting - Seattle or another location until it works, you might need to stop the vpn and restart it after these changed by selecting on / off switch
Hello Wen,
You've reached the AVG community support forum.
Could you let us know whether you tried connected to a different server/location and checked if the issue persists?
If you haven't, try connecting to one of the Streaming or Torrenting servers (locations) that are available in AVG Secure VPN & check for the issue.
Also, please enable the Mimic VPN protocol in your AVG Secure VPN by following the below steps:
Open AVG Secure VPN > Menu > Settings > Protocols > Select Mimic.
Let us know if the issue still persists after following the above steps.
AVG VPN is blocking the download of torrent files, every time I try to download a file, through Download Manager or another Downloader, the program waits to receive the information from the torrent file before starting the download and the operation never ends.
I have already tried all the configurations, including selecting the servers indicated as configured for download and the problem persists.
It is necessary to disable AVG VPN to be able to download torrent files. I have used ExpressVPN for many years and have never had any problems with downloads.
I have already been in contact with support and the only intention of the technicians was to get into my computer even though I have indicated that without AVG VPN activated everything worked correctly. The support has proven to be incompetent and ignorant on an issue that I have indicated has started with the latest updates to the AVG VPN program.
I switched to the AVG VPN subscription because it offered security within the complete AVG package, but I think it's time to go back to using a product that works without any extra configuration.

I tried to download some file with qbittorrent but AVG VPN is blocking all download. I had to turn VPN off to complete the download. Is there any way to stop VPN from blocking qbittorrent?

Thank you for your understanding.
Same issue here. I have switched to Mimic and same issue. Time to search for a new VPN service I believe to see if download works with theirs. This problem with AVG just started in the last couple of days. What did they do or change to cause these issues??
