VPN blocks all internet connections

To troubleshoot these issues, AVG Support may request that you change your internet connection settings to use DNS servers from a different provider, such as Cisco, Google, Cloudflare, or Quad9.

After a forced AVG update, the VPN now blocks all internet connections when it is on.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled 3 times now.   I received an email from AVG Tech Support, followed the instructions and double checked everything.   The VPN still does not work.

I have double checked everything in the instructions, have uninstalled/reinstalled 3 times now.
The error I get with the VPN on is: 
       This site cannot be reached.  DNS address cannot be found. DNS_PROBE POSSIBLE.

Again, this problem started with the last FORCED AVG update.  I installed this subscription on another computer recently and the problem exists on the new machine as well.

Calling in to AVG Tech Support is frustrating, as the employees are inexperienced and not helpful.

After Tech Support reaches out via email with instructions to troubleshoot, I cannot reply with an update.  This, too is frustrating.

Not happy.
