I have paid for software on my computer. A backup of this softwarefrom my computer to the software cloud server will not connect when VPN is active. Also using the software via a Wi Fi connection with VPN active will not connect. Turning the VPN OFF the software works correctly.
Why is this???, can a software provider somehow have their software, once installed, as being active only to a specific ISP address.
I am using the optimal (Default} location
I have changed the VPN to the Software Providers Country. The backup of the software to the software provider cloud server (Paid for, not free) has now worked twice with no problem.
I did contact the software support, and was replied to by the owner, for confidetiality I will not show the full responce. The provider has several software packages, In early days it was purchased in different identities and installed with different ISP addresses, then sold under a different name, Quote from responce "Put an end to that quickly" . So the back up works as discussed above, running other paid for by me does not perform as a paid item, runs as a demo dowload, rego number are --- and cannot be re-entered, turn VPN OFF, all work. Evaluation by me is the owner, and developer is "switched on" to prevent software theft, and running a VPN, I think he has that almost worked out.
Hello Samuel,
Yes, there are chances for the software provider to restrict the usage of the product for some regions.
Are you using the optimal or different location in AVG Secure VPN?
Thank you for the information.
Could you inquire the concern software support whether they restrict the access of their product when users are using a VPN?
Also, try changing to different locations and check the status.
Thank you for the information.
