I suggest you to try connecting to different VPN location in AVG Secure VPN to check if you're able to access internet.
To check if AVG Internet Security is causing the issue, I request you to enable AVG Secure VPN and disable AVG Internet Security and check if you experience the same.

With AVG Secure VPN switched on I cannot access the internet. As soon as I switch it off I can access all web pages. Can anybody help me work out why this is happening and how to resolve?
